Lakefield is led by long-time industry professionals who are devoted to providing quality care for pets and meaningful experiences for veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
Dr. McConnell practiced emergency veterinary medicine for 27 years, including co-owning a successful practice in Springfield, Oregon. He sold his practice to Lakefield in 2017 and in 2019 decided to take a break from work. It turns out, while Dr. McConnell is good at a lot of things, breaks aren’t one of them.
Still filled with passion for the profession and inspired by his own positive experience with Lakefield, he joined the organization as Chief Medical Officer in 2020. In addition to providing medical oversight and leadership to Lakefield’s veterinary professionals, Dr. McConnell is active in organized veterinary medicine, serving on various state and national boards and advisory committees.
Like many kids, Mollie wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. Before committing to veterinary school, her parents suggested she work for a veterinary hospital first. Since parents do know best, she got a job at a clinic in Washington and had the chance to learn many aspects of the business. The result? She was still hooked on the veterinary profession, but in a different way.
Mollie went on to work for several organizations within the veterinary industry. Though successful in VP-level roles, her strengths as an empathetic leader and purpose-driven builder inspired her to launch Lakefield. Since the beginning, Mollie has been integral in creating the strong operational vision, supportive culture, and “do the right thing” mindset that have been the keys to Lakefield’s—and our Team Members’—success.
